Growing the Internationalist Routes of the Green New Deal

An action guide for local campaigns

We don’t have to wait around for national governments to make weak commitments to climate action. Instead, we’ve teamed up with the Glasgow Labour for a Green New Deal local group to release this guide, giving you all the info you need to start taking action for international climate justice right away and wherever you live.

You can fight for an internationalist Green New Deal in your local area by using public procurement to embed the principles of supply chain justice in your local anchor institutions. By campaigning for supply chain justice, you can stand in solidarity with workers and communities in the Global South and work to bring an end to extractivism.

Using this handy guide, you can tap into all the skills you need to:

  • Build your team

  • Do your research - find your targets and your allies

  • Raise awareness

  • Make your demands

  • Escalate your campaign

  • And win!
