Trade Councils Project
Trades Councils bring together trade union members across local areas, providing a potentially powerful space for workers to collectively develop visions of how our communities can be more equal, democratic, and sustainable. We believe that by proactively organising workers and taking the lead on climate issues, Trades Councils can be revitalised into more diverse, powerful local centres of workers’ power.
That’s why the Worker-Climate Project has teamed up with Trades Councils to organise discussions about just transition. We held a series of roundtable events, where Trades Councils could present their work supporting just transition locally, and discuss the challenges and opportunities of playing a more active role in the fight for a worker-led just transition.
Check out the recordings and summaries from the roundtables below to find out more.
