Worker Transition Database
We built this database to help everybody understand how workers are fighting on climate issues. Whether you are currently taking on worker-climate organising in your workplace or want to learn where to start, this unique resource is the ideal place to learn more.
This database is part of our ‘Movement Assessment’- a project of investigation to resource the movement with an in-depth knowledge of its current state and history.
Read our report ‘Towards a Worker-Climate Movement’ to explore the most impactful examples of this organising in a political context- exploring across unions, regions, and approach to the state.
Check out our ‘Groups Index’ for information on the key collectives of union members taking on transition issues, and the groups which support their struggles.
Use the search bar to look for a particular example, or for a broader search use our ‘tags’ system. Click on a type of tag i.e. Union, to get a list of all tags in that category. Click on a tag to filter your results by that tag, and add another (or more) to get even more specific results. For example, if you want to see examples where PCS have demanded climate adaptation, select ‘Union: PCS’ and ‘Demand: Climate Adaptation’.
With over 400 examples listed, the Worker Transition Database is worth exploring from many different approaches. If you have an example of worker-climate organising in Britain you think isn’t included, or suggestions on how this resource could be adapted to be more useful, check the bottom of this page for feedback form and our email.
